Well darn. I've got the back half of both a ND and SD license but it doesn't look like I will get to use them. I'll make a few more eastern CO trips but expect to be mostly looking at the scenery.

I made my first eastern CO trip as a 2-day jaunt on Dec. 18 and 19 with my 11 yr old lab Brady and a buddy with his two springers-11 and 4. In our first field (private) we put up a mixed group of about 8 at fairly long range. I could not make a proper ID so did not shoot. He missed one long shot...

What size Rex Specs did you get for your lab and how big is he? My younger lab is a rangy 73 lbs.

I second, or third, the idea of grinding pheasant for sausage as my wife will eat it that way. I also cut it up for chili supplements and have made pheasant pot pies that turned out very good.

It is sure hard to believe that the French Bulldog tops the list now. I sure never see them around. I wonder where they all are. Maybe it's an east coast/west coast thing, and not a Colorado thing.

So who else is still in the pack? Parker on the left is 13 and retired. Brady on the right is 10 and still hunting fine. New pup is also a yellow pointing lab, Tucker, now 2. He has done great hunting but he and Brady still knock heads around the house.
