    Theres a lot of gray area on possession limits but my grampa always said that if you ain't saving the legs, you might as well not bother shooting the roosters. Wantin waste is something no hunters should be doing.

    A guy I know shoots a 28ga. All wild roosters. The vent rib is broken tho. He likes the lighter gague for squirrels, too.

    Sorry to hijack, but what would be the reason for having so many dogs on a hunting trip? The guys I know roll with one dog all season long. Again, I'm a noob and just curios.

    I like hunting milo. Something neat about seeing the grain move around where the dog is and then a rooster busts out. Kinda like playing shark in a ball pit with my neice and nephew at chucky cheese.lol

    Pheasants definitely need winter cover but the hens cant build nests in soggy cattails. Thats where the crp is most helpful and for bugs for the chicks.
