Hey dead end, I also live in Northwest Oklahoma and have hunted quail extensively for years more than I like to admit. What county are you located in, I'm in Blaine Co. Also, hunted pheasant 20 days at Drummond flats this past hunting season.

Very little compared to years gone by. Did hear Quail calling when I arrived at church Sunday, rural setting. Maybe 100 yards away and another one responding some distance away. I also got into the mix and we had a trio going. Ha .

You forgot to mention the age factor,Ha! I read somewhere that the greatest threat to our health is age, hands down. Couldn't tell since I'm a spry 75 yr. spring chicken, weighing in at 128lbs at 5' 10". 🏃

I think 80-100 miles is pushing it for Prairie Grouse. Maybe 20-30 tops.
