    Best Dogs

I understand where some come from with the meat dog vs test dog concept. I play both games and my thoughts are that a good test dog and a good meat dog are very similar. They both normally share some of the the same traits, such as drive, intelligence, train ability, heart… I think that dogs...

    Extreme Dog Fuel

Inukshuk makes a 32/32 formula that is probably the densest formula I’ve ever seen. 32 %fat 32% protein at 720 kcals a cup. Red paw 32k is 32% protein and 20% fat. At 525 k cal a cup. The inukshuk 30/25 I currently feed is 30%protein 25% fat and 578kcals. Red paw is a high quality food but...

Are you on the nutrisource breeder program? I saw earlier you said you were feeding nutrisource. I actually checked into the breeder bags, and I didn’t like that they didn’t offer the performances formula. I was on nutrisource performance for almost 2 yrs. My 75 lb male that was eating 3-3.5...

    Extreme Dog Fuel

Gotta do the math and figure out price per kcal if you want the real numbers. Lots of conversions. Each brand is different. Kibble density, and shape affects how much kibble fits in a cup. Kcal and quality of feed dictates how many cups you feed. Gets pretty complicated 😂

    Extreme Dog Fuel

No. Last quote I had was 43 for a 33lb bag. But you had to buy a 65bag pallet.

I also feed Inukshuk 30/25. It is a high density feed tho so you have to be careful when feeding lower activity dogs. They have a lighter formula as well the 26/16 but the kcals in that formula are almost the same as most companies 30/20 feeds. It is definitely not a food for a couch potato dogs...

    AKC lab pups SE MN

We are excited to announce that we are expecting a litter of black and yellow pups around the end of April! This is a repeat breeding, the feedback from the last pups turned out great. They were easy to train, great off switches for around the house but also had all the drive you could want for...

    Franchi Instinct SL

I have the 16g sl, we won it at a banquet actually. Was the PF edition. Actually my favorite gun I own. Shoots and handles well, very light in the field.

    The truth about Prairie Storm

Yes I’m very happy with the decision, Bill was great to work with and I’m very happy with the pup. SH at 8 months is very impressive… I watched her run a MH test online and I like how much fire she still had! It’s a fine line balancing high drive dogs and the control needed for high level tests.

    The truth about Prairie Storm

I like that breeding you got that pup out of. I almost put a deposit on the same litter when he announced it. I ended up with a pup out of AFC drakes bay homerun hitter x QAA jenga. Couldn’t pass up the pedigree!

    The truth about Prairie Storm

Assumptions and stereotypes are rampant in this conversation. It was never a hunting with a dog vs no dog or hunting with a high dollar sub gauge gun or cheap pump conversation. In reality the avg, hunter on this forum is shooting a less then 2k shotgun regardless of gauge other then maybe a...

    The truth about Prairie Storm

Sounds too me like someone is a little jealous of the guys with “style” 😂 I will enjoy hunting over my well trained AKC dog, with my nice O/U on public land any day over trying to glorify hip blasting road birds out of my truck. But to each their own 🤷‍♂️👌 Do us all a favor and please refrain...

    Your favorite pheasant O/U

My go-to is a Franchi Sl 16g Pheasants forever hun of the year edition. My daughter won it at a banquet, so I said I would take good care of it for her 😁

    The truth about Prairie Storm

In no way did I mean to infer road hunting is not sporting. If done safely and fair then it is just as sorting as any other means of hunting. I meant the part of jumping out of a truck with an already loaded and uncased gun. Not only is that not sporting but it’s also very dangerous especially...

    The truth about Prairie Storm

I’m not gonna lie.I know everybody has a style of hunting. Not everyone has a dog and rules vary by state. Here in MN everything about that story would have been completely illegal. In Mn you can road hunt but the gun must be cased and unloaded. I grew up road hunting without a dog. My buddy and...

    The truth about Prairie Storm

I normally don’t shoot at birds past 35 or 40. Very rarely am I shooting my first shot past 20 yds. I try to keep my dog close when he gets hot. I’m not a fan of letting your flushing dog run full speed after a running bird while you sprint through the field behind him. If my dog is working a...

    Oak ridge kennel

Gatzby commented earlier up about Dokken being a marketing guy and he is correct. He was a trainer but all his dogs are now trained by employees. I know of at least 2 kennels where the owners were head trainers at dokkens place before starting their own kennel. I have seen some real nice...
