    Upland pheasant vest.

Sure don't want to hijack the thread but two due to over zealous hunters not waiting for birds to clear. Young dogs as well that came up with the birds. One lived, one had to be put down in the field.

    Upland pheasant vest.

LOL...that's funny. I was reading the title of one post and typing on another. Oh well, my age is showing. I'd still wear orange along with my GSP's. Thanks for the heads up.

    Upland pheasant vest.

I can appreciate your personal thought on the orange but I've seen more dogs shot without a vest (no orange) than with one wearing orange. Just my two cents but put yourself in the dog's shoes; I'm betting they want to be seen by a hunter.

    ANY REVIEWS OR INFO PLEASE

Can't say much, but I had one for awhile. It was nice but my Browning Cynergy's (Field and Feather, both 20's) just shouldered better so it went out the door. Nice gun. Was a little disappointed in fit and finish but I think if it's a deal it'll be good to go.

    New Vest

I've moved away from the "busy" vests and now just have a simple Orvis and throw a small bottle of water in the bird pocket. Always have water in the truck.

Picked this up for $20 at a garage sale this morning. Man said it’s a transport box used on airlines. Any insight appreciated.

    What size shot???

Maybe I'm older than some on here, but I have killed more pheasant and quail than I can count with 7 1/2 shot. Why...because I hunted many years before I even knew there was anything else. Are 5's and 6's better, I believe so...for pheasant but not quail. I'd would rather pick out a pellet or...

    Paradigm Shift

Just found out that our State Education Agency purchased 50,000,000 masks, 100,000,000 gloves and millions of gallons of sanitizer. If students and staff are required to wear masks and gloves, I may just retire after 36 years in education. Can you imagine a Pre-K student trying to learn with a...

Great and glad you enjoyed it. The summer sausage with a block of cheddar and some crackers can go a long way.

    Dog Vest or No Vest?

I use Sylmar Dogwear http://www.sylmardogwear.com/. When hunting grass corners, no; but in stubble and switchgrass, yes. My question is why not use one? Like chaps for dogs...LOL

    fake pheasant

I've worked with and trained more GSP's than I can count. The Dokken works one time perfectly. The first time that hard head hits the top of a GSP's nose, shaking is over. I then go to bumpers. Gimmick or not, it works for me.

If you could ever find one... I inherited my father 2004 Citori Feather 16ga O/U. It's a dream to carry and shoot.

    Identify your dog...

The post about the missing Red/White setter got me to thinking; so I wanted to share what I do with my dogs. All of my collars have my cell phone number. This includes my e-collars as well. My regular collars are embroidered; however, you can order brass name plates and add them to the...

Meet Zep...a bad to good rescue story.

Here's Zep; she's a 2 1/2 year old registered female that is absolutely beautiful. The TexasGSP rescue contacted me and said the owner had her at the vets office to be euthanized. I then called the vet who put me on with owner and boom...she's in my truck and we are headed to a new and great...
