I have a copy of and have read Rollin Oswald's book. My children bought it for me last Christmas.
The information in the book is an excellent source but it is a difficult read.
Ok, I have been following this thread some.
Please answer a question that has my curiosity up. What is your "sunny day" gun such that you are seeking a "rainy day" gun?
The issue may not be pitch. The pitch of the stock is not the only factor in the elevation of point of impact.
I would first determine if the comb is too low for you.

My understanding is that David Marshall Williams was involved in the development of the short stroke gas system used in the M1 Carbine.
I have both a Model 50 and a 59.
I am going to plug the Winchester Model 59.
You can purchase one on Gunbroker for $350 to $500.
The gun is a semiauto is available in 12 gauge and it weighs about 6.5 lbs.
The gun is unique for several reasons. The aluminum receiver and fiberglass wrapped barrel will not rust. It has an...

I have observed such be the cause of the demise of quality WIAs in Michigan 20 years ago.
How long before someone starts selling time shares on such property?
Most of the rural roads in NC and NW Iowa are covered with limestone gravel.
I have never seen them become unpassable due to rain.
However, in dry weather, that white limestone dust will coat every surface inside and outside of your vehicle.
I am in NW Iowa now. I am going duck hunting shortly.
It is extremely dry here. Water levels appear to be 3 to 4 ft below normal.
Every cover you walk through crunches.
Here is a hack that works well when bird hunting in cold weather.
Purchase the disposal toe warmers. Get the kind withe adhesive surface for attaching to the bottom of your socks.
Instead of wearing them in your boots, attach them to the inside of your wrists where the blood vessels are...
Most of the kids shooting a 20 gauge on a HS Clay Target Team trap field are beginners. I would estimate that are engaging their targets at 37 yards or more.
Was that gun in 20 gauge?
In several years of coaching high school clay target teams, I have noticed inconsistent target breaks with 20 gauge guns and improved cylinder chokes. Modified chokes in the same guns result on more consistent breaks.
What would that accomplish other than completely removing the choked portion of the barrel and changing the balance of the gun?
I suspect that the choked portions of the guns in the OP are very short.
I wonder if the donut pattern with cylinder chokes was a thing back when shotshells were loaded with fiber wads.
I have two guns with cylinders barrels that I use for skeet with both lead and steel shot and for doves and ruffed grouse.
I have done some patterning with both guns. All...
Only one time in my life have I used a full choke for upland bird hunting. The first pheasant that I shot was turned into a pink mist. There was nothing there to pick up.
Opening the chokes guns made them much more useful and valuable to me and their owners.
Are you sure that the cylinder has choke? Is it tapered or straight?
American standard bore diameter is 0.729" for 12 gauge. Italian guns are usually 0.005" smaller or 0.724".
Dickinson shotguns are made by Huglu in Turkey. Many Turkish shotguns are modeled after Italian designs.
