    Loose action on an O/U.

I had an old Francotte over under that had a light strike on the primer issue. Sometimes those older guns need a super duty cleaning inside. If you are sending it off, you might have them take it apart and do a fresh clean and re lube. Certainly couldn’t hurt.

    20 gauge Loads.

I buy those for my Dad, but in #6. He does very well with them, though they seem a bit difficult to find. I would use them in my first barrel if I used a 20, but I’m a 16 guy…

    Now the work begins !!!

I just picked up a used 20 gauge Ethos a few weeks ago and have put a box of shells through it. Very nice handling and super light weight. I got the 28” barrels so it doesn’t feel to “whippy” for me. Overall very impressed so far…

    Tax Refund Purchase

Gunbroker is now charging “tax” on all purchases “based on ship to address”. I live in the county where my tax rate is 4.9%. I bought some ammo so it can be shipped to my residence; they charged me 10%. I bought a gun and the ship to address for my Dealer requires 8% tax; they still charged...

    Final days in Kansas

The US Drought Monitor seems to be a good tool. Check back to nesting, mating and brooding months and see where the moisture was good and follow it for a few months. It rang true in the areas that I hunted this season.

Went out for my final trip and hunted Saturday through Monday. The first day we saw a fair amount of pheasants 40+- and 3 nice sized coveys . The Roosters were very difficult to get near to, but the quail co operated nicely. Saturday morning we hunted a different area that had good...

    Vintage/older Over Unders

I have a Francotte O/U in 410. It was built in Belgium mid 1940’s. Beautiful gun with a solid rib. My go to grouse gun.

    Gas Prices

I have fished up there, but not as much as I used to. Taylor river coming out of the reservoir gets pretty hammered; not much public access. Never have been to the graveyard in Tincup, only driven through the town. Sounds like you‘ve been around my stomping grounds? I spend most of my time...
