Almost single digit days to wait till the opener. I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas!!

I'm just hoping Cabelas or Walmart will have a few boxes to sell when I come through. I'm flying this year and don't really want to pack shells.

Been going since 2008. Always have a great time. Shoot more birds some years than others. Pretty sure they are wild pheasants but if they aren't I really don't care. I'm out there having a great time.

Really depended on what we were hunting. Large corn fields we had everybody. Smaller sloughs and shelter belts we split up some.

Yes saw plenty of Hens. Some passes through corn fields that's all we saw. This was my 13th season hunting in SD at the same farmer's farm. These are not pen raised. Last year 15 of us got 15 birds the first day and single digits for the next 2. 3 or 4 guys get their limit in a couple hours and...

No all on private. When you only have 2 dogs, 20 guys hunt with 2 dogs. We are all friends or family of 3 farmers.

We had 20 guys and 2 dogs. It was cold and windy but ended the day with 51. It's been quite awhile since we have had that good a day. A bunch of happy hunters here.

The Hungry dog is a great homemade hot dog place we stop there every year on our way through. I know you are thinking why would I want a hot dog but trust me these are different and really good.

I know a lot of guys on here like to go later in the season for less crops in field and cooler temps. This will be my 11th season to make the trip from Tennessee to South Dakota for the opener. I just have so much fun opening weekend why go later unless I could go twice which has not happened...
