Off season I feed one cup am and then run the dog 2 plus hours later. Then pm feeding is 2 cups. During the season he gets all 3 cups plus some wet only pm. Always with water(floating). My dog if feed to close to runs he will shit it all out causing loose stools.

My short hair averages over 3 miles to my 1 when hunting. Lots of variables but that’s about normal. Some days he may do 6 plus to my one other days 2. A friend had a drahthar and she didn’t put on near the miles as she hunted close and my gsp has a lot more range over the same cover/ day.

I hunt a lot of wpa’s and get a couple a year. Believe it or not a lightly hit bird can swim pretty good!

McPheasant I’m always open to new options that are better for my dog. Curious how you know how much too feed daily. It’s easy too adjust with pre made foods. My dog uses at least a cup extra during the open season. Also where do you get your supplies? And how do you keep a supply on road trips?
