Why do the wildlife folks cut every tree

When you manage a wildlife area for hunting, you need to make the "best use" of what should be adapted to be there. The habitat type that is most endangered in the United States is native grasslands. There is significant value to extensive grassland tracts. Unfortunately, our predecessors did...

They had been doing some research with collared birds and he indicated that the quail nested in the black at the same rate as the unburned. I think the important thing to remember is that quail are a...

    The move is finally over!

Have dreaded moving all my life! Have at least one more to do. If I were choosing, it would be deep in pheasant country. However, 4 grandchildren near where we are now may get me trumped!

    Chick Sightings?

Ran my first county brood survey this morning. First sighting was 4 hen turkeys. The second was a single male bobwhite. Did get to see 2 jackrabbits, not on the survey, but a nice rarity! Had a hen pheasant with 2-7 week old chicks. We couldn't find any more than the 2 and they could fly...

No, it is her third. I expect it is caused by her constipation. On a brighter note, another .50 inches of rain last night.
