    Shooting Woes - Help Needed

good advice - I found myself too quick to the trigger when we got a bird in the air. A lack of confidence is the reason. I must slow down.

    Shooting Woes - Help Needed

I will do try this over the weekend. I have shot this Benelli Ethos for 10 years. I did change chokes a few years back, but I shot very well for a while. Last year was not ideal. This year was horrendous.

    Shooting Woes - Help Needed

Thank you. I had 2 situations this season when I was completely startled that a rooster jumped up. I was fixing my GOPRO both times. Idiotic move. Echo (9) always gives me time. Josey (5) doesn't. I carry my shotgun the way you would want me to carry it. My mounts have been horrific. I need to...

    Shooting Woes - Help Needed

Believe it or not, I utilized this practice technique prior to opening day, and then soon afterwards. I was pretty decent on trip #2 to the sporting clays range. I have always tried to finish my shot through the bird. I noticed that I felt stuck this season. An inability to swing smoothly. My...

    Challenging Season in Colorado

It's rough out there. I've never walked so far on ideal private land only to see a single hen, and one rooster flushing at 100 yards out. My dogs are finding birds, but nothing like prior seasons. Last season the cover sucked, but we found some birds when the snow hit. I am not confident that we...

    Challenging Season in Colorado

We hunted some new private land in Western, Nebraska as well as some of our favorite hot spots in Colorado. I walked over 25 miles over 3 days. We didn't put up a single bird in some exquisite land in Nebraska. The dogs and I found 6 roosters during the trip (all in Colorado). We shot 3 birds...

Opening Day 2023/2024 Season - Colorado

Opening day was interesting. The area where I do a lot of my hunting experienced really bad hail in both July and August. Many houses, equipment and fields were negatively impacted. I hunted all private land. The cover was really thick and crispy. The temperatures neared 70 degrees by 11 am...
