    How’s your shooting been?

Some of it is worth the $, IMO…there are lots of people out there that know a hell of a lot more than me, and I’ve benefited from their expertise…

Are you better at sporting clays or wild birds?

If you shoot a round of sporting clays…new course, intermediate difficulty…vs same # of wild roosters…which are you better at? Roosters for me. I don’t think most shots are that difficult. May have a lot to do with covers I’m hunting? Dogs? Etc? (My dogs aren’t necessarily close, but thank god...

    How’s your shooting been?

Goose, I swear to god, get your ass on a podcast, or your own show of some kind on YouTube or TikTok…you’d be a huge success! You’re what this country needs…I’m serious! I love the majority of your material…you’re kind of a Larry The Cable Guy, but with a MT bird hunter sensibility….please! Or...

    28 gauge

I don’t rely on “things” to get me permission…I rely on myself…much is done on the phone, anyway…most of the spots I want access on don’t have inhabitants on them anymore…kind of a trend these past 50+ years…

    28 gauge

An hour here or there with a good trainer can be very fruitful, as spending $ on quality ammo can be…to each his own. If I knocked down 200 roosters, I could live with losing 15…but that’s still 7.5.%, which is still high to me…

Do u shoot a second time at a bird that’s been hit?

I’m guessing I may have a bigger “sample size” of hunting buddies throughout the fall than many others here…some without dogs, or decent dogs…some have to be reminded of the difference between IC, M, F choke…and why #5 shot is better than #7.5…my groups have decreased in size over the years...

Do u shoot a second time at a bird that’s been hit?

It’s just something I do, not a lot of thought…not too different than taking a 2nd shot after a miss…I’ve just seen so many “dead” birds get away… I’ve been doing this “shoot again” deal for years, if it’s safe to….as far as falling targets, lots of sporting clays presentations feature those...

    28 gauge

Having worked in the $ business for 34 years prior to retiring, it’s interesting what people pay attention to as far as prices go…gas for sure, as it’s in our face 24/7…a good deal vs poor deal may be $1 difference when filling up. I have my “hot buttons”, for sure…feel like I pay closer...

I gotta let the cat outta the bag

Haven’t seen much waterfowl yet in my 3 trips to SD…may see more this week. In the past 3+ decades, I’ve seen torrents of them in my late Nov/Dec trips…very impressive tornadoes! Partial to mallards, myself…

I paid $50 for a box of bismuth 28 gauge shells last fall at Cabela’s, haven’t shot any yet; still working on a box of 28 gauge NICE ammo that a buddy of mine hand loaded, that cost me a bottle of 12 year old Pigs Eye bourbon…Pigs something or another…a lot more than $50. I use those non-toxic...

I rarely do it, but a coffee at Starbucks is $32/gallon…just black coffee. Cigs are $10-12/pack. The only real bargains these days are hookers and shotgun shells. I don’t do gas station or bar gambling…I’m too busy with the aforementioned bargains. Out of curiosity, I’d like to know what guys...

    The flush

Actually, my best brag regarding a hunting buddy is that I learned last fall that one of my close hunting buddy’s brother-in-law is married to a girl whose mom is married to Eric Menendez….thats super strange…but super cool…😁
