    No, you said "E-Collar Training".

Training your dog to stay closer

Isn't that what I said? Basic Obedience comes first. Doesn't sound like this dog has been through a training program. You can't re-enforce with the collar what the dog doesn't know. The progression is OB, CC, then FF for a basic 3 month program.

Training your dog to stay closer

I wouldn't encourage that if the dog has not been through a basic obedience training program. After my dogs have been through OB, CC, and FF I begin quartering work. It takes 3 people and best started on a football field or open area, not in tall grass. 2 helpers on the sides about 20 yds...

Training your dog to stay closer

Quartering drills, lots of obedience, including the whistle sit. When it comes to training and doing it right, nothing is easy. Training is done in the off season, not in season. So no quick fix.

    Limp dilemma

I would have found a new vet 2 years ago and fixed the problem then. My dog had CCL surgery at 9 and yes it was a long recovery with lots of therapy. But when I decided to buy a dog I took on that responsibility. She will be 12 and is still hunting with no other health issues. Yes you are...

    20 ga Wild Pheasant ammo?

I like light mod on the long shots of 35-40 yds. Every once in awhile out to 50. That's with a Briley extended light mod. On those tighter flushes I take my time and make sure I am on the bird before shooting so I shoot very few close ones.

    Recovery Powder

There has to be side effects to cramming multiple supplements down a dogs throat. I hope people aren't sorry a few years down the road. I don't really give my dogs snacks other than a bite of left over chicken or steak. None of that manufactured garbage.

Here is the conclusion of the supplement study on Foxhounds. The results of the present study are interesting; however, due to the study design they are not conclusive. Further work with this supplement in a larger group of dogs using a blinded crossover study design would be ideal to prove that...

    Recovery Powder

You know the supplements that we put into our bodies are generally a scam and not really monitored by the FDA. Not that I trust the FDA. Placebo effect for the most part. If you really plan out your diet, you will get better results than supplementing with vitamins and minerals. It is the...

    Recovery Powder

Never. But I have not fed a cheap food in the last 40 years. I'm sure some dogs have some type of food allergies but I think generally there is something else effecting the dog. Last year, my 5 year old labrador had some thinning of hair on his tail. He always shed more than most dogs I have...

And here is another stating that dogs do not need electrolytes. Here is a quote: "They don’t need electrolyte drinks, as dogs don’t sweat away electrolytes like we do. Even some canine sports drinks may cause gastrointestinal upset and lead to diarrhea." And here is what the article says on...

    Recovery Powder

I guess my point was that Extreme Dog Fuel, Pro Plan, and throw in Nutrisource if you want are what I would consider mid-range foods. They are all about the same. Inukshuk and Dr. Tims are top tier. Working dogs need a food high in Fat and Protein. The problem with supplements are that you...

    Recovery Powder

Extreme Dog Fuel is 485 Kcal per cup 30/20. Pro Plan 30/20 is 480 Kcal per cup. Inukshuk is 578 Kcal per cup 30/25. Dr. Tims Momentum is 530 Kcal per cup. I have used a ton of different supplements over the years. But Inukshuk has eliminated that need for me. Several years ago I fed Dr...

    Recovery Powder

Very few studies have been done on supplements for dogs. Most of the stuff you read are suggestions and opinions. Here is one of the few and it suggests that supplements may be beneficial. Not that they are. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2018/05/180508180649.htm The problem with the...

    Recovery Powder

I think humans eat a terrible diet. Processed foods cause a majority of our health problems, along with a lack of exercise, obesity, and a lack of sleep. Some illnesses just can't be overcome or avoided due to genetics but most problems with us come from lifestyle choices.

I wouldn't consider a 9 year old dog a senior by any means. Mine will be 12 and still gets 30/20 Inukshuk. I have just cut back on the amount she gets. She will hunt like always this year with no supplements. I have hunted my dogs when it was 5 below for waterfowl in deep strip pits where...

A high quality food and water are all that is needed. I take care of my dogs all year so they are ready for hunting season. All the supplements are a waste of time and money. Do yourselves a favor and start feeding Unukshuk
