Barrel length is really a personal preference. I think you will find most guys prefer 28" tubes in an O/U. Personally, I have always prefer shorter barrel and shoot my 16 ga. Citori with 26" barrels very well.

Bob, if you have lost some of your hearing chances are you will have a difficult time hearing the bell, especially on windy days. I used to use beeper collars on my dogs until my hearing got to the point I couldn't hear the beeper. Stay with the GPS to find your dog.

I bought a Browning Citori 12 ga. back in the mid 70's. I had a heck of a time with the safety/barrel selector and it cost me several birds. As I was walking I would apparently bump the safety to the left and when I went take the safety off it would be between the O and U and would not come...

Bob, there are better areas in the state than the area from Watertown up to the Pierpont area. I would suggest getting further west. West of Hwy 37. Golden Hour is the member on here that knows all the hot spots NW of Watertown but I don't think he is too anxious to share them with anyone...

Man, there's a bunch. Some of my elk hunts and my moose hunt were pretty special. And I've had some excellent dogs along the way. My last two Brittanys were probably the best of the bunch as hunting dogs, field trial dogs and super family pets.
