I definitely will as it gets closer and I decide between mn, nd, or mt. If I decide on mt I’ll for sure want to try a combo hunt.

    Sharpies and the drought

I’ve seen posts on Forums saying bird numbers haven’t been and won’t be impacted this year. Idk seems like the high temps would do harm. I’ll definitely be keeping up with whatever info comes out. I’d love to go to eastern Mt again this oct. They’re in the same boat.

    Sandhills

I heard that there were pheasants on Valentine that surprises me since there Isn’t much agriculture around it. I hunted Valentine but just barely, I didn’t see many birds i mainly concentrated on McKelvie.

    Sandhills

McKelvie is amazing, it’s a big area . The 2 years I went there wasn’t much pressure I saw a few antelope hunters not many grouse hunters. I didn’t hunt Valentine as much, mainly because on McKelvie there was more vehicle access. My wife could drop me off and I could walk an area and get picked...

    Sandhills

On McKelvie there are a lot of low areas with water, of course there’s also a lot of high areas. It feels like sand mountains sometimes. Valentine national wildlife refuge has a ton of water. I can’t imagine the low areas not having cover. That said those aren’t always the best grouse areas. I...

Prairie Grouse, partridge, and other assorted upland birds

Dusky grouse is extremely light, might be the best in my opinion.

Sharps are definitely red meat, I made fajitas with them once and really enjoyed them.

    How do I find “Q”

Quail are gonna be near some type of brush they might be in grass but there has to be some woody growth near. If there are quail around and there are plum thickets they are gonna be there while loafing after feeding.

    Minnesota combo?

I want to hunt mid October. I went to Montana last year and it was great. But it’s sounding like they’re having it tough this summer. Is it possible to hunt pheasants on the west central side of Minnesota then Ruffs and woodcocks in the central in the same time frame . Not saying the same day...

First trip to Montana for Sharptail and Huns.

I hunted eastern mt last year for the first time so I can’t compare it to other years. But to me it was very good. Only lacked finding some Huns to make it amazing. We saw a ton of sharps and quite a few pheasants. I’m hoping the drought doesn’t last and it stays good.

    Piston seal assembly Remington 1100

Mine isn’t cycling great, I took it apart and cleaned. and the piston seal assembly on mine is looking a little rough. I saw a video about the new part. It Was made by Remington so I assume it’s an upgrade. I thought I’d order one in advance

    Sharps and huns

Should be, I didn’t get quite that far north but just about. Hunting was good just south of there.

I hunted eastern Montana from Glendive to Culbertson. it was wonderful, sharps everywhere plenty of pheasants. I guess I haven’t figured the Huns out.
