Dog found but one phez in a new, large, beautiful (habitat-wise) walk-in in NW KS. Tall cover so belled the dog. Bell stopped tinkling so I hustled to the dog. Perfectly held point. Flushed four feet away. I missed. That was my hunt yesterday.
Very few phez anywhere in KS. By reputation, NW KS has been the best. Been hunting there for 30 yrs. In the beginning and into the middle of that period there were beaucoup phez. All in the past unfortunately.
When you're hunting public, as long as the invaders are safe not sure there's a legitimate complaint that goes beyond we were here first. The best thing is try to take advantage of the situation. A big party will move almost all the birds in the area they cover. Position yourself to take...
