I've used these Sylmar dog boots from Gun Dog Supply. Easy on and easy off. You can put some duck tape around the top to help them stay of but I really haven't needed to. If you do lose one they are quite inexpensive to buy two sets so you have some spares. Lewis are good just a little more...

I think walking in wet grass for an extended time is the worst. I've never seen any boot (other than rubber boots) that would stay dry inside under those conditions. I doubt it's wicking in from the top.

Looks good why and where. I've lived here 14 years and pheasant hunting has been very disappointing. I live in Aberdeen for over 30 years and hunting is much better there.

I use some brass cleaner on the ends of the Buck 110 to shine them up occasionally and a little oil on the wood handle.
