    Help with Dilemma?

I've got a bit of a problem, not sure how to handle it. My 12th wedding anniversary is coming up, November 7th to be exact. But, have an invite for private wild bird hunt (10,000 contiguous acres) full of gorgeous habitat, have done extremely well there the last 2 years when I was also...

A gift for your hunting buddies

Large prints of pics is a great idea. I hunted last year with some of our “core” group, but had some new guys added. I take a lot of pics. Try to get lots of candids, something more than “end of day pile of birds” pic. Had tons printed from 4x6s to large prints. Had them sent to our group...

A gift for your hunting buddies

Area Code hat for where your group hunts or is from. I've seen them in stores, and there is an ETSY shop that will make them up.

    OnX

I have the nationwide subscription, use it all the time, and don't have issues on my phone. I have had issues on my desktop trying to delete or manipulate waypoints, it just kind of freezes up and doesn't want to do what it should, then all of a sudden it may work. or not.

    It Looks Grim

I’ve hunted my home state of Kansas for 30 years solid. I’m not going this year and only have a 6 hour drive.

    It Looks Grim

Does the WIHA lease payment have stipulations in it that the property can't be grazed? Or are there (and I'm assuming this is correct) different tiers of payments, ungrazed gets this much money, grazed gets this much money, crop stubble gets this much, grass gets this much? How does the...

    Dove Tomorrow

I still consider myself a Kansan, even if I moved just over the border after college in 2003. Hunted a MO conservation area on the opener, with a friend and his 75 year old friend, just like the 3 of us have done for the majority of the 19 years I’ve lived here. Shot a limit in just over an...

    Chicks

We had a bunch the first week of November like that last year. "HEN HEN HEN HEN" BOOM. Somebody would catch a glimpse of white neck or some color or a cackle while everybody else was just seeing mostly drab color and no tail.

    KDWP app heads up

Dad works out at a local gym and local game warden is often in there. He pointed out that the original KDWP app "HuntFishKS" is no longer functionall and you have to now use "GoOutdoorsKS". Frustrating to me having to change stuff around, but I guess the new one is cheaper for the state to...

    It Looks Grim

Same here, graduated high school in 98, grew up catching the tail end slide of quail hunting around there, and pretty much by the time I was done with college and moved out of state in 2003 it was basically all over. Dad did say he heard 2 different bobwhites whistling last week behind the...

If you could only pick one week...

I've been on 2 SD trips, both times the first weekend of November for 4 days of hunting. T-shirts or long sleeves has been the normal wear. As a side note, don't ever get married the first weekend of November. It makes for some really quiet time at home following a 4 day trip. But man, did...

    It Looks Grim

I didn't take his KDWP comment as blaming them for the fall in population, just their overuse of rose colored glasses as they try to spin the fall in population to maintain tourism dollars from out of state hunters.

What is the best pair of boots you ever owned for hunting pheasants?

My dads got them and really likes them. He put tuff toe on them when new. Hasn’t been used hard, 3 seasons? Couple hundred miles through heavy CRP grass.

    SD atlas- paper copy available?

As others stated, you don't need cell signal to have full functionality with OnX. Download the map ahead of time, then you can even turn the cell signal off and it will still work just fine. I much rather use OnX than a paper map because I can always see exactly where I am. I often even draw...
