All I know is that many times I go out first thing in the morning and see them fly out of the trees, never questioned them as to how they slept. Our chickens will roost in trees and they can’t even fly !

I avoid the opening few days of deer season on public land, after that the frenzy tends to die down a little. Private land wouldn’t be as much of a worry, but most everyone allows deer hunting on private land so there’s that.

I don‘t think crop insurance has much to do with haying CRP. I would also question that habitat is CRP’s primary purpose.
