I've done it in western Kansas. Those days may be over, but it used to be pretty common. I mostly hunt alone or with a small group, but I'm not immune to the joys of a big, social pheasant line though a couple quarter sections of milo or wheat.

I’ve gotten exceptionally lucky with new Browning wood, buying blind and have gotten really good sticks. The worst one I have is a vintage 90s superlight. But yes, normally they are lackluster at best.

In the case of my Parker it's pretty obvious someone loved it enough to put an exceptional, but very heavy, piece of wood on an already piggish Trojan they loved.
