    TSS Pass-through

Purely cost. By my breakdown when I bought all my components, that load costs me $1.24 per shell using brand new primed shells. The TSS component is $0.89 and the steel is $0.06. So if I went with a 1/2 ounce of TSS my shells would dang near double in price. I was pretty happy with my pattern...

    TSS Pass-through

My load is a duplex of steel and TSS. 90% of stuck BBs are steel. I can probably count on two hands the number of TSS I've found in the breast and legs. But like I've said, my shots are closer than what was originally being discussed. My load was given to me by Hawglips on duckhutningchat. He...

    TSS Pass-through

Sorry, for the record, the vast majority of phez I shot with TSS are Stone Cold dead. For small bore and non-tox, it's as good as it gets. Effin expensive though.

    TSS Pass-through

My info is completely anecdotal, but for my 28ga loads it feel like I get mostly pass throughs. My shots are almost always less than 40 yards though, and most under 30 (I train good pointers cuz my shooting sucks). I HAVE seen pinprick holes through the bones of wings and legs, which is a...

    Pudelpointer Puppies - Minnesota

I have a Drahthaar and a PP and a German Shepherd mutt. The wirehairs shed maybe 20% what the shepherd does. Possibly less. It's not zero though.

    Pudelpointer Puppies - Minnesota

Thanks. His coat is excellent. Harsh wire but with very little fluff. Not as dense as my DD, but he can run in the hot weather way better and the cold still seems to not affect him much.

Governor Noem writes about her hunting dog

It's too bad that some folks have to "yeah, but" this in regards to politics. This story was striking because the leader of the largest pheasant hunting state was proud of the fact that she killed her own hunting dog after a bad hunt that seemed to directly stem from her inability to handle a...

Governor Noem writes about her hunting dog

I know a lot of people will cry about killing farm animals (while they eat their fried chicken and double cheeseburgers), but it is a fact of life that for a plethora of reasons animals need to be put down. And if she had said, the dog bit me so it had to go, I'd still question it but not...

Governor Noem writes about her hunting dog

I'm not giving her a pass on this, but killing a clients dog and killing your own dog are very different circumstances. I'm also not familiar with SD animal cruelty law, but I'd guess they are more lax than MN.

Governor Noem writes about her hunting dog

Politics aside, she seems like a person who doesn't know the first thing about hunting dogs. She took a 14 month old GWP on a hunting trip hoping it would "learn from the older dogs." Surprise, surprise, it didn't and ruined a hunt. On the way home from said trip, she let the dog get loose and...

    Pointer vs Flusher Poll

My first dog was a flusher, since then I've gone pointer (versatiles, if you will). I've ran them through all the NAVHDA tests, and hunt the hide off them. If you told me I HAD to go kill a rooster in western MN or eastern SD (where I hunt), I'd take my buddies incredibly well trained lab. I...
