What do you mean "no difference"? It certainly will changing to a standard 2 3/4" barrel. You will be able to shoot non-magnum shells. The standard barrel has two gas ports, the 3" magnum barrel only has one.

There are also some 1100 barrels on GunBroker.com Probably going to set you back $200-300 but will give you a much more serviceable shotgun. Good luck.
