In the past few years there have been terrible winds in September/October (derecho levels) that knocked huge amounts of corn to the ground…75 mph, +/-…really does some damage, and it’s very difficult harvesting it when it’s knocked down, and I think that’s tough on equipment, too…always...

Knowing weather is always a risk—wind, hail, snow, etc—there’s always an urgency to harvest amongst my farmer friends…at least get it in bins or store it at the elevator for a modest fee per bushel per month…my guys aren’t getting much more than $3.30-3.40 for corn, at least the last time I asked.
