I use ITX shot for my non-tox shells in my vintage guns. I kill lots of ducks and geese with steel. When I shoot modern guns on crappy weather days I use #2 steel. Never had any issues or complaints using steel shot. Some of my friends shoot #2 steel all the time so they don't have to switch...

It's called decoupage. Not hard to do. My folks did some furniture when I was a kid. Several coats of the varnish give the look you want and if you do enough you can't feel the edge of the applique. There are how to videos on Youtube.

This map was recently released. The areas we hunt are not affected by any drought. Really expecting a great pheasant season!

I've not hunted ducks in SD but was curious as to where the good areas in the state are. I hunt mallards on water and in fields where I live. I have seen large (2-3,000 birds) migrating flocks of mallards late in November in SD but that's sporadic at best and not every year. Just wondering...

I've hunted with Joel and his Goldens. I was very impressed with how they did. Plenty of enthusiasm and retrieve in them.
