Columbia has their Ptarmigan hunting coat on sale Here. I used one for several years before I moved to a technical vest.

    1330 fps

When you refer to the Federal “blue box” are you referring to these? Or are you referring to these? Federal has changed their packaging over the years and I haven’t kept up with the difference.

Cheap Ammo - Kansas City Area Pickup

You can’t ship ammo via USPS, it’s against the law. Well, I guess you can but if you get caught it’s a Federal offense.

    Rem 105 CTi questions

I remember reading a post somewhere about a gunsmith that figured out how to fix them. It might have been on Shotgun World or someplace like that, I just don’t remember. There was one in the Classifieds here for a very long time. When I read about being able to fix it I looked but it was no...

    1330 fps

I had a friend that never cared what he shot. He was a natural shot but wounded and lost a bunch of roosters but back then there were a bunch around and if he lost one there was always another just down the field. I hated losing roosters and I shot a 20 so I bought the best I could afford. I...

They are nice, I wish mine had the more open grip rather than the tight pistol grip

    A5 20ga

I've got the Sweet 16, its a dandy but I don't hunt with it much. I heard the 20's weigh more than the 16's do.

    AL 48

The Franchi AL48 is a great shotgun. I’ve used one during various times in my life and loved them because they were so light. My first one was a 12 ga with the barrel cut to 24”. I killed a lot of quail with that shotgun! I really screwed up when they discontinued them, the Scheel's store...

Hug for dog for me today

I’m so sorry for your loss! He looks like a good happy dog in those pics and was lucky to have you and your wife! They worm their way into your heart and never live long enough! I think I have cried harder when we’ve lost dogs than when relatives have died.

    Your "Go-To" gun and why?

In the last 20 years there have been three that were my go to guns. A Merkel 1620, a 16 ga with a set of 20 ga barrels, a Fausti DEA Roundbody 16 ga that weighs 6 lbs even and the last is my Rizzini Aurum Light 20 ga. When I got the Merkel 20 years ago I couldn’t miss with it, a rooster would...

    Doing an inventory

If you buy a hunting license does that mean you have guns? If you use your CC or write a check to buy ammo does that mean you have something to shoot that ammo? What about the range where you go to target shoot or the gun club you belong to or the LGS you go to drool over new guns. I have a...

    Dog soap, shampoo?

Our dogs seldom get baths unless they have rolled in something nasty. We just use a Harts brand dog shampoo. My wife uses a waterless dog shampoo before she grooms the Welshies. It's Begley's brand and it works very well. GSP's seldom get baths because they aren't rollers.

    Doing an inventory

That’s not true! I have a specialized policy that does not require me to list make, model or serial number, if I have a claim I only have to prove that I really owned the gun. If the government were to impound the insurance companies records it would only show that I have guns, not what make or...

    Garmin Alpha 300 Lanyard

Garmin tracking collars will sync with Garmin Instinct and Fenix watches. I have this ability as I have both an Instinct and a Fenix watch but it’s hard to see the small characters on the Watch face. I used it for a few years until my vision deteriorated. I know a lot of guys use this and it...

    Camera

My wife bought me THESE for my birthday last fall. You can control them with your voice or turn on the recording with a button on the R temple. I have several great videos of my dog on point, the shot and the retrieve. The video quality is pretty good. I ALWAY wear glasses in the field so I...

    O/U Which Barrel?

I have a couple of fixed choke O/Us that are choked M on bottom and F on top. The other is I/C on bottom and M on top. Makes no sense to shoot the tighter choked barrel first with them.

    Garmin Alpha 300 Lanyard

I bought one of THESE from Front Range Gun Dog. It hangs from the D-ring on the right side of my WingWorks vest. I carry a Garmin 200i and this is the third year I have used it and it shows no wear. It’s rock solid secure and I can lift it up and see where my dogs are instantly without...

    Your "Go-To" gun and why?

I had one of those that I bought about that same time for roughly that amount. It was my first decent SxS and really my first decent shotgun. I liked it and shot it really well and killed a lot of pheasants, quail, and even a few ducks while jump shooting ponds until some SOB stole it from the...
