    2024 gear review...what worked and what didn't?

Good luck with your 6.2L! Two of my friends have them and are having oil consumption issues. The dealership wants to change from 0w20 to 0w40 but the say the oil fill caps with the 0w40 label are unavailable. I hope they get it fixed for you!

28th Annual Trip To South Dakota

Sorry for your loss, I understand your pain! A little bit of me has died with the loss of each of our girls.

Ficcohi 20 ga. Golden Pheasant Ammo

I shot a 20 gauge almost exclusively from about 1985 until 2005 when I jumped to 16 gauge SxS's. I have still shot the 20 since then and recently I found a little 5lb 8oz Rizinni O/U that I shot most of last year. I hunted prairie grouse, pheasant and quail and never really felt under gunned...

    Shooting glove

I’ve been wearing the Pyke Dakota Cold Weather glove HERE for the last couple of years. They are light and I can pick up a quarter off the table with them but they aren’t, in my opinion, a true cold weather glove. They have held up really well, I like the way they are cut on the back of the...

    What is this?

That is a classic example of someone making something that no one needs! I will pick a few up from one of the closeout sites for a couple of dollars and give them as gag gifts in a couple of years.

    20 ga Feather lightning

So according to your numbers the Hevi Hammer isn’t a very good shell from your Remington, but it beats the Boss bismuth?

    20 ga Feather lightning

I haven't tried that ammo but my wife has used this HEVI HAMMER with great success from her 5lb 8oz Franchi Veloce 20 gauge. It's a combination of bismuth and steel that was very effective on South Dakota and Nebraska roosters last fall.

    20 ga Feather lightning

I honestly don't know how many heavy field loads that you would have to shoot from an alloy framed O/U to cause damage but it would have to be a bunch and the beating you would take makes me think you would wear out before the gun. I shoot 1 1/4 oz field loads from my alloy framed 12 ga, 1 1/8oz...

    Best Roto Molded Kennel

I ended up purchasing a Cabelas Gun Dog intermediate kennel after I looked at Gunner, RuffLand and Dakota. The intermediate is tall enough for my GSP and it has a 5 star crash rating. The key lock on the door is a joke but the door is solid and the latch seems to work well. If fits behind the...

    New Gun Safe

I have a 84 gun behemoth that sits in my unheated garage. It is a fire proof safe that's rated for a couple hours and I use two Golden Rod heaters, one 36" long and another 12" long. I had the 12" in another safe that I got rid of and had nothing to do with it so I put it in the behemoth. I...

Interesting, another person told me they had redesigned their door and the video is 3 years old but I hope my concern for the design in the video can be appreciated.

    SxS Barrel Length

I thinks it’s personal preference. Longer barrels are “in” right now and shorter barrels were “in” 25-30 years ago. It’s a fad! I have SxS’s with barrels from 25” to 30” long and can’t say that I shoot the longer ones that much better than the short ones. What I can say is guns w 26-28”...

    Best Roto Molded Kennel

I was forwarded this on another board: "Standing Stone kennels did a crate comparison a year or two ago. It was very informative". Watch Here I was set to buy the Dakota until I watched the video showing how the door could be pushed out and a dog could get its paw stuck. My GSP can get into...

    Best Roto Molded Kennel

Are they all the same? Is one better than the other? I'm looking at Ruff Land, Dakota and Gunner. Gunner kennels are significantly higher, are they that much better? What does everyone think?

    hunting sunglass for this fall

I have been using THESE for several years. Theses Carhart safety glasses are strong, have impact resistant, polarized lens and don't look terrible. I bought 2 pairs 3 years ago and still haven't opened the second pair.
