Merry Christmas all! Returned today from my second SD trip will post report and video this week.

The three bird, breast and thighs with 1lb bacon yielded 8 good sized patties. My son and his buddy really liked them, they added cheese on theirs. Son wants to make some and free to take back to school with him. Again thanks for sharing the recipe.

Here was my test burger. Did 3 birds breast and thighs with 1lb of bacon. Not sure on the ranch amt might be a bit light. I didn't use a packet we had a big jug of it. I really like it!

They were very good, just have to watch for flare ups. One Thanksgiving I did bacon wrapped pheasant and my son informed me the grill had flames coming out it. Needless to say our dinner was ruined.

Couple other ways I've fixed pheasant, brined the breast then added a rub and bacon wrapped, glazed some with a honey mustard. The bottom pic is smoked pheasant and wild rice soup.

I have had the same experience as you Bob, I think alot of times when the dogs are working/trailing birds on the move they get locked in on the hottest sent and other birds split away from the danger and the dogs continue their pursuit and either flush or point the bird(s) they were tracking. I...

I have done the same and yes very juicy and excellent best way to do the birds in my opinion, if you are doing whole skinless birds.

Have not done this with pheasant but make pate out of all my woodcock breast, its very good.

I used those in my first trip this year to SD and they were great out of my 1100 out to 35 to 40 yds. In fact ordered more for my trip coming up.
