    Ticks

The problem with the pills is that the tick has to bite the dog for it to work. They don't do anything to actually repel ticks. The dog could be covered in them when they come in the house. That is a big no no for my wife. She would freak if she saw a bunch of ticks in the house.

    Bird

I don't agree or disagree with it, I was just communicating what the rule was. I really have no interest in bringing my dog with turkey hunting. Patience is the name of my game, not run and gun.

    Bird

Some states do not allow a dog while turkey hunting. MN prohibits it. Its plain as day right in the regs.

    Ticks

I haven't seen any yet but its still been getting below freezing here at night on occasion. I applied the chemicals to the dog's back last week just in case though.

    Reeds Gun Show

I've been there. Lots of stuff to buy and look at. I think there is an entry fee charge and maybe one for parking now too though, so unless you have the intent of buying something, it's probably not worth just going and looking around.

    Spring wild turkey

I've had decoys (and calls) completely turn birds off. The very next hunt I completely stopped using both and would just sit there silently waiting for one to walk past within range on a daily travel route. It's like "turkey hunting for deer." Lots of waiting. Kind of boring, but I've got a...

    Spring wild turkey

Basically the complete opposite of how I hunt, but that's OK. There's lots of strategies to turkey hunt. I like using a portable blind. Its waterproof and the interior is non-reflective black. I put a comfy chair in there too. Gives me some leeway on movement so I can use binoculars or...

    Spring wild turkey

I know there's a number of spring turkey hunters here. Let's hear about your plans to hunt, stategies, success, and failures. I intend to hunt Season B here in MN which is at the end of the month. Gobble gobble

Make sure you put it in the right spot to begin with. Those things are a pain in the rear to move.

    Corner crossings

None of this is relevant because it's not your land. It's someone else's. They can do as they please within the confines of the law. Private land is private land and unless you have permission to be on it, stay off it. As for someone charging people to access their land, I don't agree with...

    Corner crossings

This is just about the worst advice you've ever offered here. And we all know a lot of what you spew is nonsense goose. Hunters like you who trespass and openly admit to it give the rest of us law-abiding hunters a bad rap. Openly advising someone to trespass could get you in serious legal...

    Corner crossings

I think most of us outdoorsmen would agree with you on this pretty blatantly. However, it's not as cut and dry as we might think it is. Which is why it ended up where it did. I'm not a landowner other than my own homestead and it's likely I'll never be, so it's difficult to put my feet in...

    Corner crossings

Iron Bar Ranch could appeal to the Supreme Court. But unlike the Appeals Court, the Supreme Court does not have to hear a case. They could take it, but they could also just decline too. In fact, most cases rarely reach the SC because they just don't have the time to hear it, or they simply...

    Game warden question

    Corner crossings

The US Court of Appeals in Denver, CO has upheld the ruling in this Wyoming corner crossing case today. They sided with the original lower court's ruling, stating that private landowners (in this case, Iron Bar Ranch) do not own the airspace above their property. The four hunters from the...

    Recent dog food experience

Take some time to read ingredient labels. A lot of consumers just look at the front of the bag and the brand name, and see a photo of a wolf eating wild salmon or something like that and make assumptions. Its pure marketing. Remember when they started advertising "grain free" with all that...

    Recent dog food experience

That's exactly it. They push their product for a profit. And the raw suppliers are even worse. Talk to your vet. That would probably be the best source of information on diet, and one size does not fit all. BTW, they are finding bird flu in raw pet foot. Buyer beware.

Lol that's pretty good. I generally use the term bottomless pit. There is literally no end to their appetite. It's as consistent as the sun coming up and going down every day.

    Pheasants - Cold?

Nope, completely untrue. No data or scientific study to back it up whatsoever. If you believe in Bigfoot or Megaladon then it might be true.
