    20 gauge ammo for quail

I'm in Iowa and you can use lead on IHAP as long as it dosen't have a sign saying otherwise but almost all state areas are non toxic.

    20 gauge ammo for quail

I ended up ordering the Winchester AA Diamond in the 7.5 shot. Thanks for all the input and hopefully they pattern good. I will pattern them out to about 35 yds to see how they do before season. I have used the 20ga Rem Nitro target 7/8oz load and they worked great but they are a bit pricey.

    20 gauge ammo for quail

I'm just curious what you guys use for quail in a 20 gauge load. When I was shooting my 12 gauge I was using 7.5 shot target loads and they worked great but wasn't sure if the lighter load in 20 would work as well.

I checked a secret spot today.

Grainbelt Nordeast is my go to. I'm not sure I've ever tried the regular grainbelt.

    Bobwhite coveys

I really like that statement, it's great to get a few but watching my dog do what she loves means much more to me.

    Bobwhite coveys

It's really sad to see the habitat being destroyed. Hopefully hunters can help save these awesome birds. It going to take a lot of conservation dollars and willpower.

    Bobwhite coveys

I'm just curious about how many birds can be safely shot from a covey before there are risk to totally eliminating that covey. So if you had a covey of say 15 to 20 birds how many could be taken before you risk totally eliminating that particular covey? I am fairly new to...

    Quail

It has been a tough year. The numbers are down so hopefully this next spring is better for nesting but the predator populations are definitely going to continue to be a problem unless fur prices increase. Hawks are everywhere to and I don't think I have ever seen their population as high as they...

    Prairie Storm Issue

Man there are a lot of negative opinions on prairie storm, I have been using them out of my 11-87 with an improved cylinder choke and killing it since 2020. I have had nothing but positive results with it and I am willing to spend a little more for them because of that. Not trying to...

    Pup loss

Is it common for a female who lost her first litter to lose them a second time? She is a healthy Chocolate lab who will be 4 years old and lost her first pregnancy last year. I have heard that if they lose their first litter they are more likely to lose the second litter as well. We...
