Great response to this thread! There were 4 hunters total, 1 dog. We had 8 pheasant, 20 quail put out. I was always in the middle with my dog, who hunted great btw. It seemed every bird flew towards my son, meaning his side of the line. I personally saw this young man have THE best day...

Ran into this mid November. Big beautiful dried up cattail with grass around the edges. Birds blowing out 100 yards up. Must a been a hundred or more. Did knock one down but couldn’t find. My dog does not retrieve and not the best at finding a down bird. Let alone in thick cover polluted...

In the trenches farmer here. Don’t like the pay to hunt either. The bigger question is why so few farmers hunt? Hardly any do around here. I’m sure some do but I don’t know any. Lack of hunters and their not voting is the biggest threat. Keep yer powder dry and run em to me.
