    Pump gun

I wouldn't worry about debris in the gun. Highly unlikely. And I don't think that 870 is any easier to strip down than the Beretta. 870's are heavy and I would take the gun you shoot the best. I've hunted pheasants for 68 years and rarely have I had the need to strip down a gun during the...

    Dog siezures

I had a Brittany several years ago that had seizures once in awhile. The vet said that as long as they didn't occur very often to not worry too much about it. My dog would just start feeling really strange and scared. He would run to me and want to be in my lap. The vet told me that when...

    Saying Goodbye

Tom, I certainly feel your pain. What I've found out is that the older I get the tougher it is to say goodbye to my four legged friends. Time will heal but the memories will last forever.

    E-collar question

I have a couple of questions. What breed of dog are you going to use it on? What to you want the collar to do? If you are not interested in beepers and/or GPS tracking and are just looking for something in a basic e-collar I would look no further than Dogtra. The 1900S would be a...

Governor Noem writes about her hunting dog

Your are totally incorrect in your statement about the rest of the country doesn't think twice about her. I winter in Arizona and when someone sees my SD license plate they come up to me and say "we just love your governor". This has happened many times from people all over the US. I think it...

Governor Noem writes about her hunting dog

According to what I've read now she is no longer on Trump's VP list. She crapped in her own bed! :)

Governor Noem writes about her hunting dog

First, I certainly don't condone what Governor Noem did. But we don't really know all the circumstances that let up to her deciding that the dog needed to be put down. While there were certainly more humane options to put a dog down this was twenty years ago and in years past in rural South...

    Pointer vs Flusher Poll

I know there are trials for Labs and probably also Pointing Labs. But when it comes to most trials, like NSTRA, Pointing Labs are not considered a pointing breed and not allowed to participate.

    Dog skin and coat care

I fed NutriSource for several years and felt it was a quality dog food, as good as you can get. (y)

    Dog skin and coat care

If you want your dogs coat to look good and shine the dogs diet will have more impact than an occasional bath with any kind of shampoo and conditioner. If you just feed a quality kibble and maybe supplement it with fish oil, or something of that nature, your dog's coat should be just fine...

    Prevent fur loss

I have a Brittany that's an allergy dog. She has been getting Cytopoint injections for nearly 7 years and it has totally controlled the itching and hair loss. Originally the vet said the Cytopoint would last 4-8 weeks but we normally get by closer to 12 weeks. The shots are costing me about...

    Feeding Time

That's what I do. Been doing it for years on the advice of breeders, field trialers and vets. There has been one exception with my current dog. In cold, snowy and wet weather she has become Hypoglycemic a couple of times. She runs so hard and burns a lot of energy plus burning energy trying...

    Remember Poly Chokes?

I had an adjustable choke on a 16 ga. Remington 870 back in the 60's. It was a Herter's brand that I bought directly from them and had them install it. Herter's were still in Waseca, MN at the time. The choke seemed to work fine as I shot a lot of pheasants and ducks with that gun.
