Pointing Labs

By "pulled the trigger" do you mean that you put down a deposit for a planned litter, or for a litter on the ground, or actually picked a pup and took it home? Tucker has pointed all 10 chukar I have put out during two session over the last 2 weeks at my club, Kiowa Creek Sporting Club. I planted the chukar, one at a time, in a release launcher cage. One bird escaped when I mishandled the launcher and I missed one bird, so he only got to retrieve 8 of them. We're joining two friends for a 1/2 day 15 pheasant hunt at Kiowa Creek this Friday as a tune-up for a 3 day hunt near Winner, SD the second week of November.

put down a deposit on a black puppy from Coteau View Kennels. plan on having it in the field next year

They produce some really nice dogs. I have never looked up the lineage on the black PLs, but if yours came from either of his two 4X dogs, you should be golden!

I have a 3yr old black female from them. She's by far the smallest lab I've ever had (45lbs) a dynamite hunter in the uplands. Great natural point, and the absolute best personality at home and in the truck. Points well but too close, grouse never allow her to get close enough. If the pointed bird takes off running, she'll get after it and flush it... all her gifts are hers and all her faults are mine as I have been her only trainer.

Whisk showing off... A Point, Flush, Catch, and Retrieve. Now it was a cripple, but it was most exciting to watch unfold right in front of me. These images are from screen grabs from my GoPro video.
