Kuiu vest

After a mouse thought living\eating my wingworks vest was a good deal for him I had to buy a new vest quick. Their was a wait for the final rise. I bought a kuiu. I also ordered a final rise, my youngest son will end up with the best I like least. I'm not unhappy with the kuiu at all but my biggest issue is a location to mount my Garmin 300. I use and really like the puke gear holster. At this point the kuiu feels like a backpack. Anxious to try out the final rise. Any thoughts on a mounting location on the kuiu does anyone else have a thought on the comparison of the two?

I can’t help with your question, but might help others looking at Final Rise.

Black Ovis has several versions of Final Rise in stock. It took a month for me to get mine in December direct. Nephew got his in 2 days from Black Ovis.

Recommend the Marsupial Upland Vest. Tried it on in person back in January when I was in Phoenix for work, waited for their July 4th sale, $288 with the sale, very comfortable, made well, able to modify easily. Great customer service!

I love mine except for one major flaw… the shell pouch is a terrible design. Takes two hands to zip closed, or you end up leaving it open and bounce out half your shells. I’ve emailed them multiple times about making a dump pouch with some kind of flap

I did the same thing. Bought Both and will choose this season. Weight goes to FR just barely. Kuiu gets the nod for storage, as stated it’s like a backpack. Shell pockets go to FR, deep and magnet closure. Game pouch seems close will know more in season. FR should shine in warmer temps, less material. Look goes to Kuiu, lotsa orange. Price was a bit better on Kuiu believe it or not. Straps and comfort will be determined once they get heavy! Both seem perfectly capable of hauling your dog out.

When you leave it open and hunt in or around weeds the open top is a collector for all kinds of detritus. I took the OEM shell pouch off and replaced it with one from an older Quilomene vest. It also has a zipper but ithas a flap with Velcro to hold it closed. I spent a couple hours looking for flap closure shell pouches with Velcro and Molle attachment the other evening and I can't find one.
Has anyone else seen one?

I use the chief pouch on mine. Or if I’m hunting doves or just wearing the belt by itself I’ll use the drawstring molle dump pouches off of Amazon. They are pretty cheap you can find them 2 for under 20 dollars.

If I'm not mistaken, I think Marsupial will "make" a Velcro shell pouch if you request it, for additional $'s. I think they do it for people with physical limitations. You should call, they have great customer support.

I don't disagree they have great customer service but they have had many complaints about their shell pockets and their padded shoulder straps. They now offer the low profile straps but not in blaze orange! I know many who have complained directly to them about the shell pockets but they remain the same. Do they really think they know more about what works than the end consumer user?

I have the lower profile shoulder straps no padding and it’s the best setup I’ve ever had hands down… I dont care about hunter orange and bought it in brown. I carry a ton of water and this thing lets me do that more comfortably than any other pack. I tried the mollie dump pouch I bought and it fits and works, it’s just too big. It would hold 2 boxes of shell and hangs down too far. The chief dump pouch looks just right.
