I was told by an person to checkout the camping and bird hunting around Froid Montana. I know I posted earlier about ND, but the person told me we would have better pointing opportunities there. So looking for any insight to this area. When I googled it there looks like there are several choices for pulling a camper up there.
I spent a lot of time in Froid before the oil rush. My info is dated but, avoid anything named Hobby Horse! The Sparks BNB was terrific but I believe Darnell Sparks has passed. The Ball Field in town had primitive camping. The Mint/annex serves a good drink and a decent pizza. The 8 ball in Medicine lake is adjacent to some really great hunting.
I'm from just on the other side of the river from there. The ball field usually has campers at it. You could also look at Culbertson or Medicine Lake. I'd also suggest you try to time your visit to get here before deer season opens up. There will be fewer hunters afield and you will have a better chance of getting a camper spot.
