Montana Ducks

Drake blue wing suprised as he spotted me when he swam around a cattail point.
Bluewings are uncommon in interior Alaska.
Here is western Montana, I see 10% greenwings, 40% blue wings, 40% cinnamon teal

Blue wings are in Montana for warm opening weeks then gone, I have never seen a cinnamon teal out hunting in Montana. Them tough little green wings can still be around late December! Great pictures enjoyed them!

Blue wings also seem to be the last to arrive in the spring. Green wings are common in interior Alaska and are pretty hardy in terms of cold weather before they migrate south.
