Our same group burned off 3 pieces of ground again today. On the largest burn 110+- acres we had a local small town fd out with 2 trucks. Trouble is the small truck with 400 gallons of water weighs over 15000ibs. That limits there usefulness. Have 2 more pieces a landowner is begging us to do...
I took advantage of the rebates buying 4 of the qualifying dbls for our pf banquet. Rebate was a smooth process.
As for the CZ quality I wasn't a fan originally but after talking with guys that sell them I changed my mind. Sellers said very few problems and excellent support by CZ.

The best preparation makes for the best burn. If you are wanting to do a spring burn fall mowing and baling gives a great headstart. If not done in the fall mowing and raking is a good idea.
Lots of water and people who know what is expected of them is a absolute. We burned 4 pieces yesterday...
So I felt the same way but got a unpleasant surprise when I broke the action barely enough to reload the top barrel and then it didn't recock. I did it 3x just to validate what was happening.
I have 1 on my 50 year old 870 wingmaster magnum. I have never patterned it and don't know if it would make a difference if I tightened or loosened it. Unlike the previous 5(?) Buttstocks if it ain't broke don't fix it.
My hunting buddies all give me shit about how rough it is but I shoot it...
NAVHDA Utillity requires a dog search a body of water for a blind retrieve. No hand signals,no whistles just the original send. The dog is judged on a thorough search.
Invitational/VC requires some long marks , doubles and blind retrieves I believe. I haven't participated in that event.
You...
Interesting that you bring up MH level of standards. You do realize most labs aren't able to do those?
By the same standard MH in pointing dogs aren't allowed guidance,whistles/hand signals.
So here is my take away
Pen raised birds are a small part of the problem.
The real problem is the dog is still gun sensitive and has learned to point away from the gunfire. You may have accidentally taught the dog this while training to overcome the same problem.
The only fix will be going back...
