  • We got 9 birds. It was slim pickings in Webster, so we headed southwest of Bristol. There are no birds around the bean fields and found our best luck around corn stubble with CREP land next to it. The birds were holding and the snow was deep on the edges of the cattails. It was up to our chest in some places and hard to walk. We did a lot of road hunting and looked for tracks in the snow. We asked several people to hunt on private land, but most were deer hunters and didn't want us walking through. The best place we found was southwest of Bristol across from a farm. It was a litte swale that went back. We walked across the corn field and pushed to the road. We saw lots of birds and got 3 there. Good Luck! You may need a shovel when traveling the roads.. Some are snow drift and we got stuck once.
I am going to be visiting the Webster area in Day county around Thanksgiving and was wondering if anyone had any private land to hunt in that area? Thanks!
