    License check. Is this legal?

There’s a thing called the 4th amendment. I wouldn’t think game wardens were exempt…although I’m pretty sure most think they are.

That was probably 2012. Why, you weren’t one of the hunters I talked to were you?

2024 Season In Pictures, Guns, Game And Dogs

I took a guy to Kulm/Ellendale:Oaks area towards the end of the hay day that had never been on a pheasant hunt. As soon as we got into Kulm, we stopped at the bar to get something to eat and there were two guys in there that were obviously bird hunters. I asked them how the birds were and they...

Help with 5 month old lab encouraging retrieving

Look up Bill Hillman on YouTube. He has a website also. You can order DVDs that teach his program step by step. Smartworks by Evan Graham is a good one also…the difference in the two is that Bill Hillman uses a lot less pressure when he trains. The Smartworks program is more of a pressure...

    Small Munsterlander Breeder

Thanks, I have reached out to a couple of breeders in the German “club” and they seemed very nice. 3rd on the list for a male for a breeding that’s going to take place any time now. Guess I’ll be looking again if she doesn’t have 3 boys. This North American/German deal has given me a...

    Small Munsterlander Breeder

Interested in getting a Small Munsterlander. Would like to train it to track deer as well as upland/doves/ducks. Looks like there is a couple of different groups??? Maybe more of a North American group and then another that follows German standards??? Anyone know of a good kennel/contact? Thanks!

Prairie Grouse, partridge, and other assorted upland birds

Went on my first pheasant hunt in 2002 and the guy showing us the ropes called them “cluck cluck’s”. He told us that they were horrible to eat and the shot would put the roosters on alert. I did not pull the trigger on one until about 2010 when about 30 flushed on the edge of some CRP and...

Prairie Grouse, partridge, and other assorted upland birds

Cut sharptail breasts into small chunks and marinate in mustard (preferably Sauer's). Mix flour, corn meal, and a small amount of salt and pepper in a ziplock. Drop the mustard coated chunks into the flour/cornmeal and then deep fry. Make sure you have plenty because they will go fast.

    Dove Hunting

Ended up going to Montana and have had a good time chasing sharptails. Shot 11 doves in a field in ND on my way here. Tons of doves still north of y’all. I’m in wheat country right now and there are plenty but too spread out to hunt. Heading back to ND tomorrow and going to try and...

First trip to Montana for Sharptail and Huns.

Find a little water and you will find birds. I do not think it would be wise to cancel a trip this year from all the hearsay.

General Advice Needed for Grouse and Quail??

North Central Kansas has both but I could not get within a half mile of the chickens with dogs when I was there. Locals said that finding a field they were using and setting up early (almost like field hunting ducks) is the best way to hunt them late season. I have seen some (chickens) in...

    Dove Hunting

Geez, I talked myself into going to Montana to grouse hunt. Now I am not sure what to do...haha! I may just throw the mojo dove and 7.5’s in the truck and follow through with the original plan. Good luck tomorrow!

    Dove Hunting

Thanks everyone...we shoot most of our birds over sunflowers that time of year which is why I was thinking the NW part of the state. They will spread out when farmers start combining corn but concentrate back on the sunflowers once the waste grain begins to sprout. I am sure there are a ton...
