I have hunted the counties you mentioned, I think the counties around Osage county / Lyon county with the native grass pastures and row crap and tree lines would be good . In the area you talk about 5 to 6 coveys a day on private ground pretty doable . Treat yourself and your bird dogs and hunt...

I have hunted the stripper head wheat feilds good bird numbers , I have had my best luck hunting opposite direction of the combine tracks / cross row . Otherwise I have had birds run down the combine track for nearly a quarter section and get up,out of range.
