Bob, I'll second your comment about shooting the hard course. I'll stay on one station long enough to consistently hit the bird(s). Mn Horse and Hunt has some really difficult shots - thats where one can improve their shooting technique, not at the easy stations.
Sporting clay's are easier for me: I can pre-mount, know where the bird is coming from, no wind, feet well balanced/positioned.
and no heavy bulky clothes. A lot more variables when hunting and shooting pheasants especially in the winter.
Gentlemen: here's a yard art oversize pheasant I saw at my bird cleaner a couple of weeks ago - had to have one. Thought it was unique and bought one for our deck Enjoy! Here's the source for the bird: flagstoreofnevada.........

I'm scheduled to hunt SD again Dec 14th and have been two times already, usually walking 4-6 miles a day. Will be 88 in January and fortunate I can still hunt! Age: just a number.
Have owned and hunted with six Golden's - current one, Izzy is a female the other five males. All have strong prey drive, some have pointed birds all have been great hunters esp finding cripples.
Managed to find some information regarding SD crop report. The USDA does publish crop information but apparently the state specific info is in a different format than previous. The info appears as graphs...not as user friendly as before...
