No shade on you @BB but they block the muzzle blast and can still hear ambient sound? I struggle to believe that those passive(non-electronic) can block the dangerous sound and still pass through the "smaller" sounds.

I second the importance of hearing, with the thickness of cover this year where I hunt, hearing is even more important to me. As much to know where my dogs are/went as it is for hearing flushes. If anyone has any recommendations for wind resistant active hearing protection...
