This is my second year, and I learned a lot from my first. Never discount state owned and bureau of land management lands they hold just as many birds as block management lands. If you are willing to put in the boot time, you will get your limit of grouse every day, even when birds #s are down. Avoid trees at all costs, porcupines are dangerous, and their is way more land than you could hunt in 5 lifetimes. Places to stay in north eastern Montana are hard to come by, and thats where the most hunters are. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
