Sore paws

Have you guys ever seen anything like this or dealt with anything like it?
My lab/wirehair mix started having issues with this shortly after we got back from Nebraska sharptail hunting. She didn't have any problems out there but the first couple trips out here at home in Iowa I started noticing her paws and even up her legs were rubbed raw.
I kind of just want to believe it's just her getting rubbed by weeds and stuff but it's weird that it only recently started happening. I have had her to the vet and they put her on an antibiotic but I'm not so sure that they even know what it is.
Anyway just looking for help if anyone has dealt with this. The pictures are right after a hunt about 5 days ago and also I should add that she doesn't act like it bothers her at all..

Looks like a dog that just hunted five days in a row. I’ve seen that injury on mine after hunting in tall grass and weeds, but that’s significantly worse..

That was after a morning 3 hour hunt. I hunt her every other day or so but never more then a few hours,

Did it get started in Nebraska and not have time to heal before Iowa..? Takes some miles to get that bad
I never seen anything in Nebraska at all. We did hunt harder out there then usual but I never seen it out there.

Boots at the first sign of the abrasions would have helped. Hard ground and dry conditions. Always worse in labs. Mushers too
Rest and foot protection.

I would have used Mushers and given an anti inflammatory to help in recovery.

Western Dakotas and western Nebraska ... scoria / rocky terrain, cactus, etc ... are especially tough on dog's paws.

Almost looks more like the dog was hunting on hard crust snow or ice and breaking through a bit on every step.

No snow at all.

I've had guys tell me that it will callus up, but it's never happened for me. It'll take a couple weeks to heel up. But it will happen again. Some dogs are worse than others. I always wondered if it has something to do with the way they run.

My son and I were just talking about that and we also wondered if that has something to do with it. I'm not going to be so concerned as long as she has no bleeding but I always check her over after the hunt. She loves hunting and I love watching her so we will carry on.
Is your dog a wirehair? Just curious as Maggie is a wirehair lab cross and here fur is really course so I wonder if that affects her also.

I've seen that before on my Vizslas, but never so bloody-looking as the first pic. A buddy's WPG gets it pretty bad. Keeping the nails short seemed to help my dogs, but maybe the skin just toughened up a little as the season went on. Now I'm fighting a similar issue with the back feet on one of mine. The toenails on the outer toes seem to rub the sides of the inner toes creating ugly raw spots.

Yes, and I have noticed that some wires run a little stiff legged.
