How to manage this?

How do y'all manage your dogs nose/legs/other areas that get rubbed raw by the grass on a multiple day hunt? Is there any way to mitigate this?

P.S.: dog is a vizsla. He does wear a vest.

ive run into this several times in the last few years with a labrador. no matter what, she seems to always end the day with the top of her nose bright pink and scratched up pretty good. sometimes to the point of bleeding. when i tried to put some ointment on it, it seems like she would lick it off pretty quickly.

i also tried one of the cuga vest that was probabaly a bit too snug and she rubbed all the hair off her pits the first day and spent all night licking those chaffed areas. since then I havent used the vest, but I have heard of folks using child/youth size tshirts under the vests to minimize the chaffing caused by the hem lones on the leg holes.

Last year I had a scare when my girl came out of some thick, hellacious looking sticker-ball plants in a shelter belt and looked like her eyes had been scratched out the limbs and sticker-balls (which i now believe to be burdock balls). she came out with bright red blood completetly around both eyes. I took her to the truck and wiped away the blood and put some neosporin around both eyes, fully expecting them to be swollen shut the next morning. When we woke up the next morning, you couldnt tell there had been a problem

Musher's Secret.
I apply it to the nose area multiple times a day when hunting.....not rubbing it in, i let it so it looks like frosting. I also do this below the eyes on the face when he isn't wearing Rex Specs goggles. Same goes for front arm pits and bare belly area.
Yes, i go through alot of Musher's Secret, but I have noticed alot less wear on these areas with applying it. I do the feet too when he's not in boots.

In a pinch I have used Chapstick and carry two with me. Since I never use the shell loops for shells, put Chapstick in there and small tubes of eye ointment. I keep the Mushers in my vet kit.

This… Mushers is the real deal. RexSpecs are a must for my boy as well.

Thanks y'all. Sounds like I definitely need to get some of this mushers secret.
Does your pup not try to shed the goggles?
He did at first, but I followed their introduction and training and he took to them right away.
