might seem like a silly question, but do you guys that get water from a municipal source take it straight from the tap, or do you give your dogs filtered or bottled water?
reason I ask. I live in a small village that unfortunately doesn't allow private wells anymore. often times when doing things like "hydrant flushing" or "well chlorination", or even if the fire department is using a bunch of water, our water is horrible. when certain hydrants get flushed it can literally ruin a load of white clothes and stain the heck out of the toilets. the water is dirty! they actually put up signs to warn people when they are doing things that will cause the water to be bad. also, when i assume the well is chlorinated, well, it smells like a swimming pool when running the water.
for that reason, we drink a lot of bottled water or take from the fridge which has a filter. anyway....
a couple days ago i noticed when my daughter took a bath that it smelt like a swimming pool. the smell of chlorine was STRONG! I also noticed that my dog got the runs really bad the next morning. related???
i guess what I am wondering is....anyone think that the additives (flouride and whatnot) and the other things that they do to make water safe for humans can maybe mess with a dogs bacteria requiring stomach?
