Nothing at all to do with pheasant hunting, but I thought I would ask incase there were some shutterbugs around here.

Going on vacation and the wifes large SLR will not work. Want to get a small point and shoot.

anybody got any recommendations? i see that right now there are a lot of nikon coolpics and canon powershots on sale.

If you don't need zoom, I think the quality of the average smartphone is as good as the average point-n-shoot... Unless you're planning to blow up the pictures really big, or do something special with them I would guess you wouldn't be able to tell a difference in quality.

Of course if you need to zoom in for some reason, then totally disregard that thought.

Have fun on vacation.

Wife doesn't like the idea of using my phone......I tried that Lol!

I'm digital camera poor, but I carry a Pentax Optio all the time. I have a WG3 now (gave my original to my Son). Shock & waterproof, so this my go-to camera on all outdoor outings. Easy menu to use, too. I have absolutely no complaints about functionality, zoom capability, or picture quality.

I have a Fuji fine pix Xp60. Its water proof freeze proof dust proof and shock proof. It was like $200 has 16 MP and takes pretty darn good pics.
