Drove out to Bismark last night. Drove into Regent this morning, 3 guys shot a limit in about 2 1/2 hours. Private land, and you have to pay, but the birds are here! I will post pics and video tomorrow.

I have never paid for a wild pheasant hunt (do hunt preserves on occassion).

That said; if you have the relatives that you say you do in SW ND, then why would you ever pay to hunt pheasants ?

There are even some lucky enough to say I would never drive more than 30 miles to hunt pheasants or any game for that matter.

No, I think he makes all of that stuff from old parts he finds along the road. Boots are caught when fishing. Quite resourceful.

It's great to see some Golden retrievers that can hunt. If I was going to hunt behind flushers a pair of beautiful goldens would be my choice.

We paid $150 per day. For this time of the year. I did find another spot to try next year that might be a bit cheaper, but I want to make sure there are birds there.

not really, buck and a half a day is pretty reasonable......if they had no other decent access and drove from afar, a day or 2 at that rate for some good dog work and easy limits might be well worhwhile.....it's all about expectations.
