Youth weekend reports

Well the pheasant gods were good to us this morning. Hunter was able to get his first pheasant of his life and also was able to get his youth limit!

I have a photo but I can’t seem to upload the image. The website gives me an error. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I’m trying to do it with my iPhone. I followed the directions that were posted in October where I select the tree icon within the post, then selected “computer” for the file location, then selected the photo but it gave me an error.

May have to resize your photo, max. size is 5Meg.

I took my son on his second pheasant hunt. Last year he got one pheasant and a rabbit. This year he got one pheasant, two rabbits, and his first quail.

The birds were all grouped up and hard to approach. As soon as one flushed, they would all flush. It was a blast and he is ready to go again.

That's excellent. Heading up there this weekend. Hoping my 10 year old son gets his first bird. Shot some clays yesterday. He says he's ready....

That's an awesome hunt for you and your son, congrats. If I ever shot a rabbit in front of my britts, the bird hunt would be all over.

I was planning to take my son and a friend. Last year eligible for both, and a first pheasant hunt for the friend. Anyway, the friend had to cancel, and my son decided he wasn't really interested in going with just me...

I couldn't sit at home so I headed out with the dog to scout a WIHA that I've targeted for Opening Morning. There were plenty of birds, but they were spooky. Spookier than I expected. Makes me wonder if they're mostly second year birds.

Looking forward to Saturday...
