Youth Hunt & Resident Opener ?

Haven't seen much about youth hunt last weekend. Hopefully some great stories about a kids first bird!
Looks like ideal conditions this week for lucky residents.

And this lucky resident and his pup are chomping at the bit. I put her vest on her to see if I needed to adjust any straps on it and she went nuts. Saturday at noon cannot come fast enough.

I plan to be out this weekend for the early start. Much better forecast then the 80s we had last year.
I've been running my dog on pheasants for the past 2 months, in my area at least there is a wide variety of ages. Some of the young roosters are nearly fully colored while other young birds are so small I doubt they will be big enough by November to survive a snow.

It does seem like the numbers I have been seeing are comparable or maybe a little better then last year. I'm optimistic since it doesn't help to be negative.
