The Sunday edition of the Omaha World-Herald reported that a 15-year-old boy out hunting shot dead a mountain lion from ten feet that he reported as menacing him with growls and bared teeth. The article also said that since 1991 when lions were first reported to be present in the state, nineteen have been killed.
